Jose Mourinho provides injury update on Sergio Reguilon ahead of Wolfsberger

Jose Mourinho has provided an injury update on Sergio Reguilon to journalists who have dialled into Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Wolfsberger press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.

The Spaniard has been sidelined with a muscular injury after undergoing scans to learn the extent of the problem following the FA Cup win against Wycombe last month in which he was an unused substitute (Evening Standard).

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of Mourinho answering questions prior to the trip to Hungary tomorrow evening to face the Austrian outfit at the Puskas Arena in what is the first ever meeting between these two clubs.

Pre-match press conferences continue to take place on the Zoom video conferencing after the coronavirus pandemic means that journalists can no longer attend Hotspur Way in person.

The Europa League round of 32 fixture will be Wolfsberger’s first ever knockout European tie and will hope to pile the misery on an out of form Tottenham side.

Wolfsberger are stuttering domestically, with Ferdinand Feldhofer’s side currently sixth in the Austrian Bundesliga and some 16 points adrift of runaway leaders RB Salzburg.

Mourinho told Football.London: “No good news. [Sergio] is not coming. No setback, just the process is not going as fast as we initially thought. Let’s see. Weekend, next Europa League match, let’s see.”
