Jose Mourinho provides update on when he expects Moussa Sissoko to return

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho was asked for an update on Moussa Sissoko’s recovery from injury during his press conference this afternoon.

The French midfielder has not featured for Spurs since he was forced off during the 1-0 defeat at Southampton on New Year’s Day.

Spurs confirmed early last month that Sissoko had undergone surgery to repair the medial collateral ligament in his right knee and had expected him to return to training in early April.

Sissoko has been keeping fans updated with his rehabilitation on his Instagram account by posting regular photos and videos of the road back from injury.

As part of the club’s pre-Chelsea injury update, they confirmed in what was described as encouraging news that the former Newcastle player has started to run on grass (Spurs official).

Mourinho revealed that he is hopeful that Sissoko could return for the final six weeks of the season in what would be a timely boost.
