Tottenham Hotspur may only be a few weeks into the new season but it has certainly been a positive start to their first full campaign under Jose Mourinho.
The Lilywhites successfully negotiated three knockout rounds of Europa League qualifying while also juggling the League Cup and Premier League.
In fact, Mourinho seemed less than confident about his ability to compete in the Carabao Cup this season before his weakened Spurs side defeated a strong Chelsea XI last week.
Most recently in the Premier League, Tottenham made a huge statement by overhauling Manchester United at Old Trafford in an incredible 6-1 result.
Spurs have been without a trophy for over 12 years when they lifted the 2008 Carling Cup, while Jose Mourinho has lifted silverware everywhere he has been in his career.
Asked today whether he thinks Tottenham can lift a trophy this season after a strong summer transfer window, the Special One remained cool and talked more about the short-term aims.
He said (Football London): “I don’t know if we can win a trophy or not, I know we’re working very hard and well, for a long time, since we arrived. This season obviously Mr Levy and the structure of the club gave us a much-improved squad and what I told you in the first press conference of the season is that our objective is to win every match.

“Of course we’re not going to, we’re going to lose, like we lost against Everton and draw like we did against Newcastle. But the target, objective is every match we go to win.
“I told the players in the last couple of days 1000 times a good result at Old Trafford is to win. Of course, if you draw it’s not a bad result but that’s the kind of mentality we must get. It was a great performance, a great result. We have 7 points, so our position in the table is so-so.”
