Jose Mourinho reacts to performances of Harry Kane and Dele Alli in 7-2 victory

Tottenham Hotspur ran rampant in North London last night as they defeated Maccabi Haifa 7-2 in the final Europa League qualifier.

One year after the Lilywhites were defeated by the same scoreline by Bayern Munich in the Champions League under Pochettino, they qualified for the Europa League group stages under Jose Mourinho.

Harry Kane scored within two minutes to put Spurs ahead before Maccabi hit back with a screamer of an equaliser.

Thankfully, Lucas Moura managed to restore the lead via his back before long and Spurs earned a two-goal cushion when Giovani Lo Celso finished cooly.

The Argentine added his second and Spurs’ fourth soon after with a cheeky chip over the keeper, before a pair of crazy handball penalties made the score 5-2.

Harry Kane was certainly not to be denied his hat-trick as he made it six for Spurs, before Dele Alli put the finishing touches on the victory by winning a penalty and dispatching.

Here’s what the Spurs head coach had to say about the win, Kane, and Dele after the final whistle (Football London): “Job done. Group phase. Almost at the end of an incredible period. Good for the team, good the boys. A hat-trick. I know he has so many already. Good for Dele to create a proper penalty and score.”
