Jose Mourinho reveals that another first-team forward is injured after Burnley efforts

Tottenham Hotspur managed to bring in Steven Bergwijn from PSV in the January transfer window and the Dutchman has been thrown in at the deep end ever since.

Primarily a winger, Bergwijn has been deployed as a strike more often than not in order to fill the gaps left by the injured Heung-min Son and Harry Kane.

Both Bergwijn and Lucas Moura have been asked to play the vast majority of minutes by Jose Mourinho for the past month or so.

The ex-PSV star played the majority of the match against Norwich City in the FA Cup on Wednesday night, a game that went to extra time.

He then started the match today against Burnley and played all 90 minutes at Turf Moor. The player could be seen limping towards the end of the match and Mourinho has now confirmed an injury. Jose said that the club will have to see if it is a minor problem or not.

He said (Football London): “The plan was to keep the fresh players on the pitch for 90 minutes but I had to change that at half-time. Steven had to play for 90 minutes, so on top of that, he’s injured. Let’s see if it’s something minor.”
