Jose Mourinho reveals that Spurs are likely to sign this player in January

Tottenham Hotspur head coach, Jose Mourinho, has now claimed that his club are likely to sign Giovani Lo Celso on a permanent deal this month, rather than waiting until the summer.

There are currently three scenarios open to Tottenham. Either they sign Lo Celso now, they are forced to sign him in the summer, or he goes back to Real Betis in the summer.

Reports have claimed that Spurs can buy the player now for $32m, or they can wait until the end of the season and will be forced to pay $40m if they get Champions League football for 2020/21 (ABC Sevilla).

The only way that Lo Celso returns to Betis is if Spurs miss out on the Champions League and for some reason do not want him on a permanent deal.

However, from Mourinho’s comments, and the increased playing time the Argentine is getting in recent weeks, everything points towards a discount January deal.
