Jose Mourinho reveals the change he has seen in Tanguy Ndombele after lockdown

Tottenham Hotspur boss, Jose Mourinho, has revealed that he has noticed a change in Tanguy Ndombele since the Frenchman returned from lockdown this month.

Ndombele and Mourinho found themselves in hot water during the lockdown period when they broke social distancing rules to training together outside (Guardian).

The two also have a frosty past from earlier in the season when Mourinho hauled Ndombele off at half-time against Burnley, only to slate him in his post-match press conference.

However, Football London reported last month that Mourinho has been happy with the Frenchman’s efforts in recent months following that game.

Mourinho has now seemingly confirmed that report in his Zoom pre-match press conference today by insisting that Ndombele now understands what they want from him.

The Spurs boss claimed that Ndombele is ready to play against Man United tomorrow and that he is now far more integrated into the squad and the spirit of the team.

On spending time with Tanguy during lockdown, Mourinho said (Football London): “I spent two minutes with him, trying to teach him how to use the Wifi GPS, nothing more than that. When he was back to the training ground, he was committed, he worked. I can see he was much more integrated in the group, in the spirit of the group.

“I think he understands more and more what we want from him.

“So, I’m happy with his last couple of weeks where he showed us some of the great qualities that we know that he has. So, yes ready for tomorrow.”
