Jose Mourinho rubbishes North London Derby claims about Hugo Lloris

Reports emerged last week, ahead of the crucial North London Derby, that Hugo Lloris was a doubt for the match due to a fitness issue (Telegraph).

Of course, this would have resulted in Joe Hart being called up for his first Premier League start for Spurs just days after making a couple of blunders in the Europa League.

Lloris had not travelled for the Europa League tie against LASK in Austria, only adding fuel to the fire that he was struggling with some kind of problem.

In the end, Lloris started between the sticks for the Lilywhites and pulled off a crucial save to earn his clean sheet against the Gunners.

The World-Cup winning Frenchman has been in superb form this season in the Premier League, responding well to the appointment of Jose Mourinho last year.

The Spurs head coach today revealed that he was unsure of where the reports that Lloris was a doubt for the NLD came from. He went on to list that Aurier, Alderweireld, Ndombele, and Reguilon were all doubts, but did not name Lloris (Charlie Eccleshare).
