Despite Tottenham Hotspur putting in a solid display to overcome West Ham United 2-0 in Tuesday’s London derby, most of the talk after the game has been about the lack of minutes for Tanguy Ndombele.
The French international is yet to feature in either game after the restart despite the rules allowing Jose Mourinho to make five substitutions per match.
Just after the final whistle against West Ham, Telefoot journalist Julien Maynard claimed that Ndombele had held a meeting with Mourinho in which the midfielder had told the Spurs boss that he does not wish to play for him anymore.
Maynard claimed that the Mourinho’s relationship with the former Lyon star had completely collapsed despite some members of the Tottenham dressing room trying to mediate between the pair.
Some Spurs fans were quick to take sides and insisted that Ndombele will be a much better asset for the Lilywhites than Mourinho.
However, others questioned whether there was any truth to the reports and suggested that we should be careful in taking sides without knowing the full story.
Ndombele is a much more valuable asset than Mourinho, who isn't even a net positive, yet the latter's incompetence has led people to believe the former is a problem, or even *the* problem https://t.co/ueOzOxtWgo

I honestly don’t care, sack Jose if you have to, DO NOT LET NDOMBELE LEAVE https://t.co/RAyEbGTJnI

I choose Ndombele over Mourinho. If this is what it takes then #Mourinhoout

It’s clear that Jose doesn’t like him. What other explanation is there?

Ndombele started 6 games out of 28 under Jose Mourinho. Stop believing his BS. #JosrOut #IStandWithTanguy

José would not even think of putting Tanguy into the match day squad if that's so.

Has nobody actually thought that perhaps Ndombele wants to leave?! Perhaps Jose doesn't want him out and it's the players decision. Nobody knows…..

Jose clearly wants a solid defensive base to build on, which is why players like Lamela and Winks are getting games and Ndombele isn’t.
Until he can be trusted as part of a midfield two, he’s not going to play. And the only person that can change that is the player himself.

My guess is that Tanguy Ndombele's exclusion is tactical. José Mourinho will want players who he can trust and who are well-drilled to fit his system. Hopefully over time we'll see Ndombele intergrated into this #thfc side. I reckon the same applies to Ryan Sessegnon.

Don’t believe this at all, clearly just making stuff up because he hasn’t been playing

Spurs Web Opinion
For a guy who has displayed a poor attitude and a lack of professionalism since we shattered our transfer record to sign him last summer, I am shocked by how many Spurs fans seem to love Ndombele. Let’s not forget that he is also our highest earner alongside Kane. There is no doubt about the 23-year-old’s talent but he has not shown a great desire to succeed at Spurs. Fans seem to forget that Ndombele’s work rate under Poch was also questionable and that the former Spurs boss said on multiple occasions that the Frenchman wasn’t playing at the level that he can.
