Journalist asks Mourinho whether Kim Min-Jae is joining Tottenham this summer

Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with a move for South Korean central defender, Kim Min-Jae over the past month.

This comes as Jan Vertonghen looks set to leave North London on a free when his contract expires at the end of the current season.

Titan Sports (via  Xinhua News Agency) reported last month that Spurs had opened talks with Beijing Goan for the defender’s signature.

In a new development this week, Sports.news.naver (as relayed by TEAMtalk) have reported that a deal is now close, with a fee of £15m agreed between the clubs.

KBS, the national public broadcaster in South Korea, have even reported that the defender will now fly to London for his Tottenham medical (Naver Sports).

While he has no experience of playing in Europe, Kim has played alongside Spurs star, Heung-min Son, on many occasions for South Korea.

Jonathan Veal asked Jose Mourinho whether the defender would be joining his squad this summer in a press conference today, but the Spurs boss apparently remained tight-lipped.
