The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare believes that Ange Postecoglou wants to add a skilled dribbler like Jeremy Doku to his squad next summer, backing the Lilywhites to revisit their interest in Antonio Nusa.
It is clear what type of profile Postecoglou likes for the wide roles, with the Australian having signed three similar players in Brennan Johnson, Manor Solomon and Timo Werner, who are all direct in the way they attack and tireless workers off the ball.
By many accounts, Spurs came close to signing Nusa last month, with the Lilywhites even thought to have agreed a €30m (£25.7m) deal with Club Brugge for the 18-year-old at one point (The Athletic).
However, the Norway international chose to join Brentford instead in search of regular game time, only to fail a medical at the Gtech Community Stadium in the final few days of the window (Ben Jacobs).

Should Tottenham return for Antonio Nusa?
Over the last few weeks, several outlets have backed Tottenham to reignite their interest in Nusa in the summer (Het Nieuwsblad) and Eccleshare admitted that he would not be surprised if that happened.
He told The View from The Lane podcast: “I think they really need a winger in the Jeremy Doku mould who can take one their man, be really relentless and keep Spurs high up the pitch. They don’t have that kind of player and attacks often break down.
“Having someone like him who can force a defence back will be useful. That’s what Antonio Nusa, who they looked at, he was in that mould, so I think that is something they will look at in the summer.”
Spurs Web Opinion
While some Spurs fans do not appear to rate Solomon, I believe that his unavailability has been a major blow to the side this season. Among our wide players, he is arguably the most effective dribbler (other than Sonny) and we do need that sort of player to sustain attacks in the final third.
