Journalist believes Spurs will ‘probably’ take a look at 23-year-old defender

Dean Jones has claimed that Eintracht Frankfurt’s Even Ndicka is ‘probably’ a centre-back target Tottenham will look at.

Spurs were linked with a whole host of left-sided centre-backs back in the summer, including the likes of Josko Gvardiol, Alessandro Bastoni and Pau Torres (Football. London). In the end, the North London club snapped up Clement Lenglet on a season-long loan from Barcelona.

Tottenham’s pursuit of Gvardiol has seemingly become complicated on the back of the Croat’s impressive displays in the World Cup, with Alfredo Pedulla even suggesting a few days ago that Manchester City are ready to offer a whopping €130m (£113.5m) for the RB Leipzig star.

Ndicka is another player who has been mooted as a target over recent weeks, with Romagiallorossa.it reporting earlier this month that the Lilywhites are competing with the likes of AS Roma, AC Milan and Newcastle United for the 23-year-old’s signature.

Ndicka’s current contract at Deutsche Bank Park runs out at the end of the season (Transfermarkt), and Jones believes that the Frenchman is one of the options Conte’s men will explore along with Bastoni.

The journalist told GiveMeSport: “I would say Ndicka is probably one that they might look at. Left-footed centre-backs are actually a rarity, there are not many about. I know Bastoni is the one that Spurs really wanted and maybe that could be revisited in the summer.”

Spurs Web Opinion

The likes of Evan Ndicka and Piero Hincapie are a tier below Gvardiol and Bastoni. So, I believe that the Inter Milan star is likely to remain Conte’s top target and I expect Spurs to pull out all stops to sign the Italy international next summer.
