Journalist claims 26-year-old is no longer one of Tottenham’s main targets

Dean Jones has written in his column in GiveMeSport that Dean Henderson is not one of Tottenham’s top goalkeeper targets this summer.

The reports linking Henderson with a move to Spurs have gathered steam recently, with ESPN reporting last week that the goalkeeper, who is on loan at Nottingham Forest, is expected to leave Man Utd in the summer, with Tottenham said to be monitoring his situation.

This was also backed up by Football Insider, who suggested on March 26 that the England international is one of four goalkeepers on Fabio Paratici’s shortlist to replace Hugo Lloris in the summer.

The publication added that the Lilywhites could face competition from Chelsea and Forest for the Man Utd man.

While Jones has also now stated for GiveMeSport that Henderson could be on his way out of Old Trafford, he insisted that the 26-year-old is no longer one of Spurs’ main targets even though the North London club previously looked at him.

The journalist adds that Porto’s Diogo Costa is one of the names high on Tottenham’s wishlist ahead of the summer transfer window.

Spurs Web Opinion

I expect Spurs, Man Utd and Chelsea to battle it out for David Raya’s signature in the summer, now that Jordan Pickford has signed a new contract with Everton.

If United win the race for the Spaniard (which looks likely since they look set to finish in the top four), Paratici might perhaps look towards other leagues at options such as Giorgi Mamardashvili, Mike Maignan and Diogo Costa.
