Journalist claims agreement between Nagelsmann and Spurs is closer than ever

Pedro Almeida has reported that an agreement between Tottenham and Julian Nagelsmann has never been as close as it is right now.

Tottenham Hotspur are currently looking for a new full-time head coach in North London after both Antonio Conte and Cristian Stellini were sacked in the past month.

Meanwhile, Nagelsmann is currently out of work himself following his shock sacking from Bayern Munich earlier this season.

Pedro Almeida reported last week that the German is technically on gardening leave from the Bundesliga giants, so Tottenham would have to negotiate a compensation fee with Bayern if they want to sign Nagelsmann now.

SportBILD also reported today that Nagelsmann is fully concentrating on Tottenham at the moment and is keen on the idea of making the move to North London.

In his latest update, Almeida claims the agreement has ‘never been so close as it is now’. He also tweeted a German flag and an hourglass earlier today.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I hope that Nagelsmann is indeed keen on the Spurs job, because if Daniel Levy doesn’t get this one over the line, there is going to be uproar. Nagelsmann is the only coach Spurs fans would accept as a Pochettino alternative, especially with the Argentine going to bitter rivals Chelsea.
