Fichajes.net journalist Ekrem Konur has claimed that Gareth Bale could return to Tottenham Hotspur if Antonio Conte gives a green light for the deal.

Bale’s return to Tottenham on loan last season did not prove to be the fairytale Spurs fans would have hoped for as the winger struggled to get a regular run in the side under Jose Mourinho.

The returning superstar still demonstrated his quality in the final third when opportunities came his way, eventually finishing the season with 16 goals in all competitions.

Since his return to Madrid, the 32-year-old has been plagued by injuries that have prevented him from having a regular run in the side under Carlo Ancelotti.

OkDiario’s Eduardo Inda claimed on popular Spanish TV show El Chiringuito last month that Conte had asked Daniel Levy to bring Bale back to the club but this was quickly shot down by Football.London’s Alasdair Gold, who insisted there was no truth to the report.

However, if Konnur’s latest update is to be believed, there is still a chance that the Real Madrid man could return to his former stomping ground for a third spell.

The journalist revealed that Spurs could snap up the winger for free when his contract at the Spanish capital runs at the end of the season, provided Conte gives the deal a go ahead.

Konnur has broken some big stories in the past. So this information cannot be completely discounted. However, the deal would not make much sense since Bale is evidently not capable of playing with the intensity that Conte demands from his players.
