Journalist claims Barcelona could battle Spurs for another young player

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed that Barcelona are keen on securing the services of Copenhagen starlet Roony Bardghji, who has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham over recent months.

It was well documented that Barca and Spurs were involved in a major tussle for Lucas Bergvall’s services in January, with the North London club securing the player from under the Catalan club’s nose.

In fact, Sport even reported last month that the feeling at Nou Camp is that the 18-year-old’s representatives used their interest to get a better deal from Tottenham.

Another transfer battle between Spurs and Barcelona?

If Di Marzio’s latest update, the La Liga side and the Premier League club could find themselves battling it out for another Swedish starlet after the journalist shed light on Barca’s interest in Bardghji.

The winger has been turning a lot of heads with his impressive displays in the Danish league this season and it has been widely reported over recent weeks that Tottenham are one of the teams at the front of the queue to sign the £20m-rated attacker (HITC).

However, Di Marzio has now revealed that Barca are determined to win the race for the Copenhagen star after having missed out on Bergvall.

He told FotbollDirekt about Bardghji: “He is a Barcelona player in terms of the way he plays and I know they like him. All the top clubs want Roony Bardghji. I think that Spanish clubs will go after him and I think that Barcelona in particular will try to sign him – not least because they missed out on Lucas Bergvall.”

Spurs Web Opinion

We know that Postecoglou wants to add another winger to the squad and Bardghji does fit the profile of a typical Spurs target. Johan Lange’s relationship with the Copenhagen hierarchy might also give the Lilywhites an advantage over other suitors.
