Journalist claims Chelsea star has been offered to Spurs and Arsenal

Foot Mercato have claimed that Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has been offered to Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

Kante has made 262 appearances for Chelsea since moving to Stamford Bridge from Leicester City in the summer of 2016.

However, the two-time Premier League winner’s future is now up in the air, with his current contract with the Blues running out next summer (Transfermarkt).

The 31-year-old has only made two appearances so far this season, having been sidelined for a month with a thigh injury.

Foot Mercato have now revealed that Kante would like to remain at Chelsea. However, it is explained that France international is not likely to be offered a new contract by Graham Potter’s men.

It is asserted that in the event Kante leaves Chelsea, he would like to remain in the Premier League and in London, which limits his choices.

The midfielder’s representatives have allegedly offered him to both Spurs and Arsenal. Despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Kante is not said to be keen on a switch to the Ligue 1 giants.

Given that Chelsea are now under new ownership, I do not expect the Blues hierarchy to have reservations about dealing with Spurs. If Kante does become available, particularly for free, one would expect Tottenham to vie for the midfielder’s signature.
