Barcelona wish to keep hold of Emerson Royal amidst Tottenham’s reported interest in signing the full-back, CalcioMercato journalist Matteo Moretto has revealed.
With just a couple of days left until the transfer window slams shut, Spurs have been unsuccessful in their attempts to sell Serge Aurier so far, even though the North London club are alleged to have tried hard to do so.
Football.London’s Alasdair Gold revealed on Friday that Fabio Paratici could look to bring a right-back in before the transfer deadline if the club manage to move Aurier on.
Reports then emerged on Saturday that Spurs had enquired about Emerson while negotiating with Barcelona regarding midfielder Illax Moriba.
Tottenham even reportedly offered Aurier in a swap deal for the Brazilian but the Catalan club are said to have turned down the offer.
However, it looks like Tottenham are fighting an uphill battle in their attempts to snap up the Barca man, with Moretto revealing that Ronald Koeman’s side have no intention of letting the defender leave.
