Journalist claims Eriksen wants CL football and would be delighted with Spurs return

Journalist Ekrem Konur has reported that Christian Eriksen is eager to receive a proposal from former club Tottenham this summer.

Eriksen has thrived upon his return to Premier League football, scoring one and assisting four goals whilst guiding Brentford to another season of top-flight action (TransferMarkt).

The Dane was gifted a route back to top-flight football by Brentford boss Thomas Frank after he suffered a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 (DW).

Whilst Frank has been open on his desire for Eriksen to stay with the Bees (BBC Sport), Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the 30-year-old has attracted interest from his previous club Spurs, as well as Leicester City (Que Golazo Podcast – 16:27).

Konur suggests the attacking midfielder has his heart set on a return to Champions League football and has tweeted that if Antonio Conte’s men decide to make a proposal for him, then he would be delighted at the prospect of a return to N17.

With Spurs sometimes struggling against teams who employ a low-block defensive system this season, the addition of Eriksen would give Conte a different tool to help pick this type of lock.

Spurs Web Opinion

It has been a nostalgic experience to watch Eriksen rolling back the years in England this season and it is clear that the maestro is not finished just yet.

Available on a free transfer as he comes to the end of his six-month contract in West London (The Athletic), this should be a no-brainer for Fabio Paratici and co.
