Journalist claims Fabio Paratici is ‘already at work’ to find new manager

Fabio Paratici has already started work on identifying new managerial targets for Tottenham Hotspur, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

News emerged earlier this evening that Tottenham had called off their plans to appoint Antonio Conte as Jose Mourinho’s successor with the North Londoners having concerns over the Italian’s reluctance to work with promising young players at the club (Sky Sports).

The Athletic have claimed that there were only the final details left to be agreed with Paratici ahead of him taking up the role of sporting director at Tottenham.

Paratici’s departure from Juventus was announced last month with Spurs said to have immediately targeted the 48-year-old to become the club’s first sporting director since Damien Comolli.

Di Marzio has revealed that Paratici’s first task is now to seek an alternative head coach after the prospect of him being reunited with Conte, who he worked with at Juventus is now a non-starter.
