Journalist claims Juventus and Barcelona have enquired over Spurs 23-year-old

Over the past few weeks, there have been plenty of contradictory reports regarding the future of Tanguy Ndombele at Tottenham Hotspur.

The midfielder has endured a disappointing first season in North London after the club shattered their transfer record to sign him last summer.

Following the controversy last month when he was pictured training outside with Jose Mourinho (Guardian), the speculation surrounding the 23-year-old’s future went into hyperdrive (L’Equipe).

While some reports have suggested that Spurs have no intention of allowing the Frenchman to leave (Mirror), others have claimed that those close to the midfielder are trying to push him towards the exit door (Football.London).

It seemed as if the former Lyon man had put an end to the speculation over his future with an Instagram post on Monday hinting that he was staying put at Spurs (as relayed by Alasdair Gold).

However, that hasn’t put an end to the rumours at all, with Telefoot journalist Julien Maynard now claiming that Tottenham are still open to letting the midfielder leave.

He revealed that Ndombele’s relationship with Mourinho is complicated and that Tottenham will sell the midfielder if they receive a big offer for him.

Maynard added that Juventus and Barcelona have inquired about the Spurs star’s availability but suggested that PSG are unlikely to move for him.

Even though I don’t think Ndombele is likely to leave this year, I get the feeling that this saga is going to drag on all summer long. The only way I can see the speculation stopping is if Jose Mourinho publically rules out the possibility of selling him. However, it is anybody’s guess at the moment when the Spurs boss’ next press conference will be with no clarity on when the season is going to restart as of yet.
