According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus are set to begin talks with Sassuolo over the signing of rumoured Tottenham target Manuel Locatelli.
Locatelli has evolved into one of the most consistent midfield pivots in the Serie A since his move from Milan to Sassola back in 2018.
The midfielder, who is technically gifted and boasts a fantastic engine, has been a pivotal reason behind why Roberto De Zerbi’s side won many admirers over recent years.
The 23-year-old has also been able to translate his club form into international football, being one of Italy’s most impressive performers in their European Championship campaign so far.
It was reported last week by Gazzetta Dello Sport that Tottenham’s new managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, wanted to bring the Sassuolo star to North London.
However, if Romano is to be believed, Juve are now ready to enter the race for Locatelli. The journalist revealed that the Serie A giants are set to begin talks with Sassuolo over signing the midfielder on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy.
Spurs Web Opinion
It is not a surprise to see us being linked with Serie A stars after Fabio Paratici’s appointment. However, I fear that the asking price for the likes of Locatelli and Leonardo Spinazzola (who has also been linked with Spurs) will skyrocket if Roberto Mancini’s side continuing playing as well as they have in the Euros so far.
