Journalist claims La Liga club could sell Spurs-linked star for just £17.1m-£21.4m

Jijantes FC reporter Gerard Romero has revealed that Barcelona could sell rumoured Tottenham target Memphis Depay for as little as €20m (£17.1m) this summer.

Tottenham look to be on the verge of signing one player from Barca in the form of Clement Lenglet, with the Frenchmen reportedly arriving in London on Tuesday to complete his medical (Sport).

The Frenchman is expected to join the North London club on a season-long loan deal, with Antonio Conte’s men having the option to make the deal permanent for €10m (£8.5m).

Sport reported on Monday that Spurs had enquired about Depay during their negotiations with Barcelona for Lenglet.

The report stated that even though the Netherlands international wanted to stay at the Camp Nou, he accepts that he will be sold this summer if a suitable offer came Barca’s way.

Romero has now taken to social media to explain that Xavi Hernadez’s men will cash in on Depay this summer if Ousmane Dembele ends up staying at the club.

The journalist claimed that the situation has been made clear to the former Manchester United star’s representatives. Romero added that Barca are likely to demand between €20m-€25m (£17.1m-£21.4m) for Depay.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given that Paratici likes to negotiate for several players in each position, he might have enquired about Depay as a potential alternative to Richarlison.

Now that we have secured the Brazilian, I do not think Spurs will sign another forward this summer. The only way that could change is if Lucas Moura leaves, which appears unlikely.
