Journalist claims ‘long-standing’ Spurs target will choose next club this summer

TalkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has revealed that Alex Scott has decided to stay at Bristol City this month despite interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur.

Scott has built on the impressive start he had to his senior career last season, establishing himself as a mainstay in Bristol starting eleven in 2022-23.

The 19-year-old central midfielder has showcased maturity beyond his years, having also done an admirable job at right wing-back when called upon.

Unsurprisingly, a whole host of Premier League clubs are thought to be interested in the teenager, with CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs revealing at the start of this month that the likes of Spurs, Bournemouth, Wolves, Leicester, Leeds and Brighton were keen on snapping up the player.

The Telegraph’s John Percy revealed last week that Bristol had slapped a £25m price tag on Scott and made it clear to interested clubs that he cannot leave for anything lower than that amount during the current transfer window.

Crook has now taken to social media to reveal that the midfielder has decided to remain at Ashton Gate Stadium until the summer when he will choose his next club, with the likes of Spurs still interested.

There will likely be a mad scramble for Scott’s signature at the end of the season if the teenager continues developing at the pace he has. However, I do wonder if the youngster would be put off by the prospect of joining Spurs after seeing how Djed Spence has struggled for game time at the club this season.
