Journalist claims Man City star could be open to joining Spurs as part of Kane deal

Duncan Castles has claimed that Bernado Silva could be open to joining Tottenham Hotspur as a part of a deal to take Harry Kane to Manchester City, should the two clubs come to an agreement.

Despite Tottenham continuing to maintain a tough stance on Kane, it was reported a few days ago that Manchester City remain confident of getting a deal for the England captain over the line before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

However, The Times revealed on Saturday that Daniel Levy might refuse to sell Kane this late in the window and that Kane is starting to accept the fact he will not be leaving this summer.

Some sources have also previously claimed that City could offer some of their players as makeweights in any deal for Kane, with Silva being one of those mentioned.

Castles has now revealed the Portuguese international does in fact want to leave the Etihad stadium and could be open to a move to North London.

The journalist said on the latest episode of the Transfer Window Podcast: “Bernardo Silva wants to leave and it’s a very obvious player to offer to Tottenham in the Harry Kane transaction.

“There is that commitment there that the player can go if he comes up with a proposal that is acceptable to Manchester City and acceptable to him.

“My understanding is that if the clubs were to agree to include that in the Kane deal then Bernardo Silva would look at it as a possible move for him.”

If Kane does leave Spurs this summer, it will likely be for a straight-cash deal as it will be difficult enough for City to reach an agreement with Levy on the England captain’s valuation, let alone Bernado Silva’s valuation on top of that.
