Journalist claims Man Utd are considering move for rumoured Spurs centre-back target

Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has taken to social media to reveal that Manchester United are plotting a move for Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo, who is also rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

A whole host of centre-backs have been linked with a move to Spurs over the last few weeks, with Tolido being one the latest players to be mooted as a target for the Lilywhites.

The Standard claimed on November 29 that Tottenham have joined in the queue of admirers for the 23-year-old, who has emerged as one of the best young centre-backs in Ligue 1 over the last couple of years.

The report claimed that Todibo is keen to move to the Premier League and that Spurs are ‘ready to rival’ anyone for the player, who is all said to be valued by Nice at £39m.

Manchester United keen on Todibo

If Plettenberg’s latest update is to be believed, Tottenham would have to battle it out with Manchester United for Todibo’s signature.

The journalist revealed on X that the Nice star is one of the names on the Red Devil’s wishlist and that the United’s interest in the Frenchman is independent of their pursuit of Benfica centre-back Antonio Silva.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would be surprised if Tottenham and Man Utd are the only two Premier League clubs who reach out to Nice over a potential deal for Todibo. The interest in the 23-year-old’s services is likely to mount over the next couple of weeks as we get closer to the start of the January transfer window.
