Journalist claims midfielder will be offered to Spurs this summer – Agent knows Paratici

Journalist Jacque Talbot has revealed that Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Palhinha will be offered to several Premier League clubs in the summer, including Tottenham.

Palhinha was reported to be on Tottenham’s radar last summer, with the North London club allegedly seeing their offer for the midfielder being rejected (Daily Star).

Portuguese publication Record claimed earlier this week that Spurs could reignite their interest in the 26-year-old this summer but added that Manchester United, Newcastle and Wolves were also showing interest in the midfielder.

Talbot has now taken to social media to reveal that Palhinha has an agreement in place with his agent Jorge Mendes to force a move away from Sporting at the end of the season.

The journalist claims that the Portuguese international will be offered Spurs, Man Utd, Newcastle and Wolves when the transfer window reopens.

He adds that while Wolves are favourites to snap up Palhinha, Mendes also has a good relationship with Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici.

There is no doubt that we need to freshen things up in the middle of the park at the end of the season. I would not be surprised if Spurs were willing to listen to offers for both Winks and Hojbjerg in the summer. So, Palhinha may well rank fairly high on Partici’s wishlist.
