Journalist claims PL attacker is ‘one to keep an eye on’ for Tottenham

Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas has said that Tottenham could reignite their interest in Leeds United winger Jack Harrison during this month’s transfer window.

In his column on Football.London ahead of the January window, Alasdair Gold revealed last week that signing another attacker and a right wing-back are Antonio Conte’s priorities this month.

The journalist revealed that Atalanta’s Ruslan Maliovskyi, Shakhtar Donetsk’s Tete, Leicester’s Harvey Barnes, Wafford’s Ismaila Sarr, Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha are among the names on the North London club’s wishlist.

Thomas has now put forward another name in Harrison, who has four goal contributions in 14 Premier League appearances for Jesse Marsch’s men this season (Transfermarkt).

The 24-year-old was mooted as a target for Spurs ahead of last summer’s transfer window (The Telegraph), but the winger stayed put at Elland Road.

Thomas believes that the Lilywhties could try again to prize Harrison away from Leeds this month, naming him as one to ‘keep an eye on’.

The journalist said on The Last Word on Spurs YouTube Channel: “Adama Traore I think that’s been and gone, to be honest. Harvey Barnes is an interesting one.

“He ticks the similar boxes to Anthony Gordon and Jack Harrison who was another one Spurs were interested in in the summer, Harrison from Leeds is another one to keep an eye on generally in those positions because he was definitely high on the list last summer Harrison was.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Harrison might not be a perfect fit as a backup to Kulusevski since the Leeds star prefers playing on the left but he would certainly be a decent squad option. The fact that his current contract at Elland Road has just 18 months left to run (Transfermarkt) also means that he is unlikely to cost a fortune.
