Journalist claims PL club have already made an offer for Spurs player

Duncan Castles has claimed that Manchester City have already made an opening offer for Tottenham’s Harry Kane this summer.

Kane has made no secret of his ambitions, admitting in an interview with Gary Neville last month that he wants to win major trophies.

While it was initially suggested that Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea could all be vying for him, City now look like the club most likely to test Tottenham’s resolve for the England captain.

Reports indicate that Pep Guardiola has been given the green light to pursue the Tottenham star as City aim to send a message this summer.

Other sources have also claimed that the Premier League champions could try and push through a part-exchange deal for the 27-year-old, and are prepared to offer Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling to Spurs as makeweights.

If Castles is to be believed, City have already made their first move just a few days into the transfer market.

Castles claimed in the latest episode of the Transfer Window Podcast (starting at 6:04) that City have already tabled an opening offer for Kane.

The journalist also added that while Chelsea remain interested in Kane, they are pragmatic about the situation and realise that would be difficult to get the striker from their London rivals.
