Journalist claims player wanted by Spurs is keen on a Premier League move

Journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has revealed that Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson, who is wanted by Tottenham Hotspur this summer, is keen on a move to the Premier League.

Strengthening at centre-back will be one of Tottenham’s top priorities this summer, with 90 Min reporting last week that Ange Postecolgou has already given the green light for the club to make a move for a central defender.

Nelsson, who has been one of the standout defenders in the Turkish top flight over the last two seasons, is one of the names thought to be on Tottenham’s radar, with Takvim reporting earlier this month that the Lilywhites are at the front of the queue to snap up the Dane.

The Dane, who reportedly has a release clause of €25m (£21.4m) in his contract, is also thought to be on the radars of both Arsenal and Sevilla (Fanatik).

We covered a report from Hurriyet a couple of days ago, which claimed that Tottenham had submitted an offer of €22m (£18.8m) to Galatasaray for the centre-back.

Spurs have competition for Victor Nelsson

Sabuncuoglu has now taken to social media to reveal that apart from Spurs, Arsenal and Sevilla, two more clubs in the form of Atalanta and Borussia Dortmund also have their eyes on Nelsson.

The journalist added that the 24-year-old’s number one preference this summer would be to move to the Premier League, failing which he wants to join a La Liga club.

While Nelsson may represent good value for money, Tottenham also need to bring in one or two big-name defenders this summer to completely revamp the backline.
