Journalist claims PSV are keeping an eye on Tottenham youngster this week

According to Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink, PSV Eindhoven are the latest club to monitor the situation surrounding Tottenham Hotspur’s Bryan Gil with a view to making a move for the youngster before the month is over.

Gil joined Tottenham in the summer of 2021, but has so far failed to truly establish himself in Antonio Conte’s side. The Spaniard has amassed just 30 appearances for Spurs in his time in North London, with most of those coming from the bench (Transfermarkt).

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Valencia and has been continuously linked with a move back to Spain in some way, shape, or form since. Just a couple of weeks ago, Valencia were thought to be looking at Gil once more (Estadio Deportivo).

The 21-year-old has made 10 appearances this season (Transfermarkt) and appeared to be making some progress after the World Cup. The arrival of Arnaut Danjuma today, though, may have pushed Gil further down the pecking order in the Spurs attack.

One thing’s for sure, Gil would not be short of options should he and Spurs choose to part ways, be it permanently or temporarily. The latest club to join the list of admirers for the winger is Dutch side PSV.

On the Eredivisie side’s interest, Elfrink said: “PSV also follows the performance of Bryan Gil of Tottenham Hotspur. Many opportunities to strengthen the team in the coming week. See what comes of it. It is clear that the need to take further action is also recognized internally.”

I’ve said it before, but it would be a real shame to see Bryan Gil leave the club. His game time is probably going to be more limited now, but he’s still a valuable asset who can be useful from the bench. If we can shift Lucas Moura instead, we should keep Gil.
