Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that rumoured Tottenham target Hakim Ziyech is almost certain to leave Chelsea in January.
According to reports over recent months, Tottenham are meant to be in the market for a right winger in January, with Bryan Gil expected to be loaned out (Evening Standard).
One of the names thought to be on Spurs’ radar is Ziyech, who the North Londoners reportedly had a failed approach for in the latter stages of the summer transfer window (The Times).
TodoFichajes reported back in September that Spurs were willing to pay £20m for the Moroccan international when the transfer window reopens in January.
However, the Lilywhites are thought to be facing competition from AC Milan for the 29-year-old (CalcioMercato), although it has emerged over recent days that the Rossoneri are yet to make contact with Chelsea regarding the winger, and the race for his signature remains open (Fabrizio Romano).
Jones has bow backed up Milan’s interest in Ziyech and added that the former Ajax man looks ‘almost certain’ to leave Stamford Bridge.
The journalist told GiveMeSport: “Hakim Ziyech remains almost certain to leave Chelsea in 2023 given the club’s direction and AC Milan retain an interest in him from last summer.”

I would certainly take Ziyech at Spurs as a backup to Kulusevski as we lack another player like the Swede who can go past defenders in one vs one situations, and we lacked penetration in attack when the 22-year-old was out injured.
However, I do not think Ziyech would be enthused at the prospect of being a backup player at Tottenham, which is why Milan appear favourites to win the race for the winger.
