Journalist claims Romero may ask Conte for some games off in November

Argentinian journalist, Doble Amarilla, has told AlbicelesteTalk that Argentinian national team players will ask their clubs not to play them in the games leading up to the World Cup.

The Premier League is set to pause on November 12/13 to prepare for the Qatar World Cup, which will be uniquely held in the winter this year.

Argentina play their first group stage match of the World Cup against Saudi Arabia on November 22, before facing Mexico and Poland in the week after.

Tottenham’s final game before the competition falls on November 12 at home to Leeds United, with a Carabao Cup tie against Nottingham Forest and a huge tie against Liverpool in the week before that.

Now Amarilla has claimed that Cristian Romero and his Argentine teammates could ask their clubs to be rested for the matches immediately before the World Cup.

Spurs Web Opinion:

We all know what kind of player Romero is. There is no way he is asking to skip games. He wants to play every single minute of every match and he only ever plays at top gear. I imagine all national sides would love to have players rested, but it isn’t going to happen.
