Journalist claims six clubs are chasing Paulo Dybala – Tottenham included

Tottenham are said to be one of six clubs in contact with Juventus forward Paulo Dybala, according to TuttoMercatoWeb journalist Giacomo Iacobellis.

Dybala is set to depart Juve after seven years this summer having failed to agree to a new contract (Sky Sports), with his current terms due to expire at the end of term.

The 28-year-old is now expected to have a queue of suitors looking to snap up his signature ahead of the new campaign, although the competition is likely to be fierce.

TuttoMercatoWeb’s Iacobellis explains Spurs are alongside rivals Arsenal, Paris Saint-German and Barcelona in tracking Dybala’s current situation and have contacted his representatives.

However, the report states that none of the aforementioned clubs are the ‘most interested’ in the pursuit of the Argentina international, who has netted 13 goals this season (Transfermarkt).

It is hinted that Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid are the frontrunners in the chase as they have shown the most interest in the Argentine.

Dybala has made 283 appearances in total for Juventus since joining the club from Palermo in 2015, recording 113 goals and 48 assists (Transfermarkt).

He has played a role in helping the Bianconeri claim five Serie A titles in a row as well as four Coppa Italia crowns.

Spurs Web Opinion

With the clubs involved in pursuing Dybala, it is likely that Tottenham are outsiders in trying to sign him this summer.

However, things can change quickly as we have seen with him in the past. If Antonio Conte wants him, then he will no doubt want the club to push as hard as possible to acquire him.

Dybala would improve most teams around the world, so again it isn’t surprising to see some of the names queuing up for him.
