Journalist claims Spurs and Man City in ‘negotiations’ for £120m Kane

Journalist Ian McGarry has revealed that talks between Man City and Tottenham have already begun in the search for an acceptable fee for Harry Kane.

McGarry claimed that his sources have informed him Daniel Levy is looking for around £120m for his star striker this summer.

This comes after Man City reportedly offered the North London club £100m for the England captain earlier in the transfer window.

The Evening Standard have reported that Man City remain confident in their ability to sign Kane before the end of the window in a few weeks, although Spurs apparently maintain he is not for sale.

Harry Redknapp even revealed this week that a source inside Tottenham told him they think Kane will stay beyond the summer (BetVictor Podcast on 10/08/21 at 19:00).

If Ian McGarry is to be believed, it appears that Spurs and Man City remain locked in talks and Levy wants only £20m more than what City have already offered.

McGarry said (Transfer Window Podcast – as transcribed by The Express): “It is our information that negotiations with Tottenham are ongoing with regards to trying to find an agreeable price for Kane.

“Daniel Levy is continuing to hold out for at least a fee in excess of £120m.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

I would be surprised if Daniel Levy only wanted £120m for Kane. That is a relatively short jump from Man City’s opening bid. If that were the case, I think Pep Guardiola’s side would have paid up by now.
