Journalist claims Spurs ‘are about to finalise’ cut-price £4.5m transfer for defender

Multiple reports have now claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are looking to snap up LA Galaxy defender, Julian Araujo.

Araujo is arguably one of the most promising talents to come out of the MLS in recent years. The right-back showed a lot of promise after breaking into LA Galaxy’s side last season and is having another solid campaign for the club this time out.

The 19-year-old is a modern-day full-back who defends aggressively and enjoys running at players.

The American international also has energy to burn and is capable of delivering quality balls into the box.

The Sunday People (as relayed by AS) report that Tottenham have stolen a march on Juventus and are looking to sign the right-back for around €5m (£4.5m) at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur has gone a step further and asserted on social media that Spurs are in the process of finalising the deal for the teenager.

Spurs Web Opinion

We are well stocked at right-back, with Tanganga also being able to cover for Doherty and Aurier. However, Araujo seems like a signing for the future rather than one who is expected to improve the side. If we did land him, I would not be surprised if we loaned him back to LA Galaxy for a year.
