Journalist claims Spurs are already working on extending Harry Kane’s contract

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, Tottenham Hotspur have already begun working on extending Harry Kane’s contract.

Twelve months can be a long time in football and that certainly appears to be the case with Kane at Spurs.

The England captain, who was desperately trying to engineer a move to Manchester City last summer (The Athletic), now appears a lot more settled at his boyhood club.

Reports over recent weeks indicate that the 28-year-old is excited to see Spurs backing Antonio Conte this summer and believes that the Italian could help the club win silverware (Football.London’s Alasdair Gold).

It has even been suggested that Kane is open to starting talks with the club this summer regarding a potential new contract (The Evening Standard).

If Schira’s latest update is to be believed, Spurs have already begun working on extending the striker’s deal. The journalist revealed that Kane has a great relationship with Conte, with the Italian seeing him as a vital part of his project at the club.

Spurs would have probably been ready to offer Kane a new contract last summer if the City saga had not emerged. So, there is no doubt in my mind that the club will make the striker an offer this summer, and the indications at the moment seem to be that the 28-year-old is open to signing a new deal.
