Tottenham Hotspur are ‘big admirers’ of Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko, however, they are currently behind London rivals Chelsea in the race for his services, according to CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs on Twitter.
The 18-year-old striker is out of contract with Dortmund at the end of the current campaign and is also attracting interest from Liverpool, Manchester United and also Barcelona.
Jacobs claimed that Chelsea were frontrunners for the forward even before Armando Broja suffered an anterior cruciate ligament rupture which was likely to rule him out for the remainder of the season.
The Stamford Bridge outfit were prepared to wait until the summer in the event the German international became a free agent and could now be set to move earlier than anticipated by paying a fee in the January window to secure his services.
Chelsea could explore paying a fee in order to get Moukoko earlier. But that wasn’t their original plan prior to Broja being out for the rest of the season.

Manchester United are also considering moving earlier and could be promoted by what other suitors do. They have tracked Moukoko for quite some time but are not advanced in talks. Liverpool and Spurs big admirers of Moukoko as well.

Dortmund in a tricky position. They clearly want Moukoko to extend, which protects them losing him on a free. But the longer it takes to agree a deal (and nothing is close yet) the more tempted they might be by a January offer.
