Journalist claims Spurs are expected to make offer for Ligue 1 starlet

Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna has claimed Tottenham Hotspur are expected to make an offer for Bordeaux starlet Yacine Adli.

Adli, who came through the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy, has seen his stock rise steadily since his move to Bordeaux in January of 2019.

The attacking midfielder was a mainstay in Jean-Louis Gasset’s starting eleven last season, registering two goals and five assists in 36 appearances.

The 20-year-old has represented France at all levels from Under-16s through to Under-20s and a senior call up to the Les Blues squad does not seem too far away for the midfielder.

Aouna has revealed Tottenham, as well as their North London rivals Arsenal, have made contact regarding Adli over recent days.

The journalist also claimed AC Milan have already made the first move, offering €12m + 10% of a future sale for the midfielder. However, they saw their offer turned down by Bordeaux, with talks between the two clubs still ongoing.

He also revealed ‘an offer is to be made shortly’ by Spurs and Arsenal while adding that Adli is also on Lille’s radar.

Although Ndombele looks like he could be on his way out of Tottenham, based on pre-season, it does appear as if Nuno is prepared to give Dele Alli a chance.

I can see us potentially snapping up a young, up and coming attacking midfielder of Adli’s profile if we manage to find a buyer for Ndombele.
