Journalist claims Spurs are not holding ‘concrete negotiations’ with attacker

South Korean journalist Sungomo Lee has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have not held any concrete talks over a deal for FC Seoul winger Kang Seong-jin.

We previously covered a report from The Sunday Mirror – 11/06 Page 70, which claimed that Spurs were eyeing a move for Kang.

The report revealed that the 20-year-old is seen as one of the rising stars of Korean football, with some even referring to him as ‘Little Son‘.

The publication suggested that Celtic were also keen on snapping up the youngster but added that Tottenham could be set to accelerate a move for him following the arrival of Ange Postecoglou.

Journalist denies Spurs talks with Kang Seong-jin

Sungmo Lee has now taken to social media to confirm that Kang is indeed one of the most exciting talents to emerge out of South Korean football in recent years.

However, he revealed that, as things stand, Spurs have not held any negotiations with FC Seoul or made any contact with the player’s entourage.

It is worth noting that The Mirror only claimed that Tottenham were considering a move for Kang and not that they had already opened talks with FC Seoul.

With Spurs ruing their mistake of not snapping up Kim Min-Jae a few years ago, the club might not want to miss out on the opportunity to land Korea’s next breakout star.
