Journalist claims Spurs are now ‘more confident’ about Kane signing new contract

According to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook, Tottenham are confident that Harry Kane will put pen to paper on a new contract with the club.

Kane has just two years left to run on his current deal at Spurs (Transfermarkt), and there has been some speculation this summer linking him with a potential move to Bayern Munich over recent weeks (Kicker).

Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann added fuel to the speculation last month when he expressed his admiration for the England captain and claimed he would score a lot of goals in the Bundesliga (MEN).

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold revealed last week that Tottenham have no intention of letting their talisman leave and the club plan on opening talks over a new deal soon.

Antonio Conte said a few days ago that the England captain is ‘very happy’ at Tottenham and he considers the 29-year-old to be an important part of his project at the North London club (Football.London).

Crooks has remarked that Spurs expect Kane to sign a new deal since Conte is now at the helm and the club are back in the Champions League.

When asked if Tottenham believe that the striker will sign a new contract, the journalist told GiveMeSport: “I think they are more confident because of Antonio Conte and the fact they’re back in the Champions League.”

I think Kane’s entourage will want to wait to see how we get on this season, given that this is likely to be the last big contract of the striker’s career. If Tottenham start the season strongly, I fully believe that the 29-year-old will commit his future to the club.
