Journalist claims Spurs are now talking to Dusan Vlahovic’s representatives

Italian journalist Enrico Camelio has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Dusan Vlahovic over personal terms ahead of a potential transfer.

Vlahovic was alleged to be Tottenham’s number one striker target during the summer transfer window but the North London club were unable to get a deal over the line for the Serbian international.

With the 21-year-old’s current deal with Fiorentina running out in the summer of 2023, Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso has admitted that he is unsure as to whether the striker will put pen to paper on a new contract with the club.

Fabrizio Romano reported that talks between Vlhaovic and Fiorentina had collapsed this week. Sources from Italy over recent days have also claimed that Tottenham are ‘crazy’ for the centre-forward and are currently leading the race for his signature.

Camelio has now revealed that Fabio Paratici tried to complete a deal to take Vlahovic to Juventus in the summer of 2020 and the Italian is now attempting to bring the player to North London.

The journalist further added that Spurs are currently in talks with the striker’s entourage and that an agreement has already been reached between the parties.

He told Calciomercato. It: “A year and a half ago, Fabio Paratici had brought Vlahovic on loan to Juventus without obligation to buy back and the club had said no.

“The team that is on Vlahovic now, not surprisingly, is Tottenham: they are talking to the player’s entourage and not to Fiorentina. The economic agreement was also probably found.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Given that so many sources are reporting Paratici’s keenness in landing Vlhavoic, it does seem increasingly likely that we will reignite our interest in the Serbian in January, particularly given his contract situation. However, I suspect that any move for Vlahovic would mean that the club are planning on cashing in on Kane next summer.
