Journalist claims Spurs are ‘very optimistic’ after latest talks with Harry Kane

Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has now revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are ‘very optimistic’ that Harry Kane will sign a new contract after their latest round of talks with the player’s agent.

There has been a constant flood of good news regarding Kane’s future over the last week since The Athletic’s David Ornstein broke on Monday that the striker is willing to extend his deal at Spurs and that the North London club plan on holding talks with him at the end of the current transfer window.

The Spurs Web then covered Ben Jacobs’ comprehensive report on the 29-year-old’s future on the Football Transfers website on Friday, where the journalist explained that the England captain will sign a new contract if the Lilywhites qualify for the Champions League.

Plettenberg has now provided another positive update regarding Kane’s future, stating that Tottenham’s optimism regarding the striker’s future has increased after their latest conversations with the player’s camp.

He added that although Bayern Munich have not given up hope of signing the Spurs star, neither they nor Manchester United should have any chance of getting the deal over the line.

Spurs Web Opinion

The news about Kane’s future over the last week comes as a huge boost to Tottenham at a time when our campaign seemed to be heading nowhere. Hopefully, the striker’s apparent conviction to stay, in addition to the club’s transfer business, brings some optimism to the fan base as the atmosphere has been quite toxic at times over recent weeks.
