SportItalia TV journalist Gianluigi Longari has claimed that Tottenham could make a move for Lazio forward Joaquin Correa.
Correa has blossomed since his move to Lazio in 2018 and the versatile attacker hit even greater heights last season, registering 11 goals and 6 assists in all competitions.
The 26-year-old, who is capable of playing out wide or as a number ten, was first linked with a move to Tottenham by Gazzetta who reported two weeks ago that the North London club were eyeing a move for the Lazio star, who is valued at £34m.
The print editions of Corriere dello Sport and Il Tempo (as relayed by Sport Witness) also reported last week that Tottenham’s new managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, could look to bring Correa to Spurs.
Longari has now become the latest journalist to discuss Tottenham’s interest in the former Sevilla forward.
The journalist claimed on social media that Correa could leave Lazio this summer and that Paris Saint-Germain have been in talks over his signing since June 10.
However, Longari revealed that Spurs and their North London rivals, Arsenal are also still in the race for the Argentina international’s signature.
Spurs Web Opinion:
While Correa would be a good signing, if this report is correct then it sounds as though a bidding war could ensue and Spurs cannot afford that this summer. If PSG want him, PSG will get him, it’s as simple as that.
