Journalist claims Spurs ‘definitely have an interest’ in signing wide attacker

Journalist Dean Jones has said that while Tottenham do hold an interest in Manor Solomon, there are other factors which could influence whether or not the North London club pursue the winger.

Solomon first made his name at Shakhtar Donetsk and saw his career stall a bit over after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Eventually, he used a FIFA ruling that allowed Ukraine-based players to suspend their contracts, prior to agreeing on a one-year loan deal with Fulham last July (Daily Mail).

The winger has struggled to get starts under his belt at Craven Cottage this season, having primarily been used as an impact substitute by Marco Silva but he has shown glimpses of his quality, having found the back of the net five times across all competitions (Transfermarkt).

The Athletic reported last month that while Fulham wish to tie the Israeli international to a long-term contract this summer, Spurs were also keen on snapping him up, with the report stating that the Lilywhites are now ‘at the front of the queue’ for the 23-year-old.

Jones believes Spurs do have an interest in Soloman

When asked about Tottenham‘s rumoured pursuit of Solomon, Jones has now told GiveMeSport: “What I say is he hasn’t been a regular, guaranteed starter at Fulham or anything, and there’s still work to be done in terms of making him that player.

“So, I think while Tottenham definitely do have an interest in him here, there are other factors that do need to be weighed into the equation.”

Even though Solomon has not established himself as a regular starter for Fulham, he has shown that he can be a very useful impact substitute to bring on, given his energy and his crossing ability.

He has similar characteristics to Son and could be a competent backup to the South Korean.
