Journalist claims Spurs have agreed a deal for top summer target

It feels as if Tottenham have been chasing Giovani Lo Celso for an eternity and, in truth, they have been after the attacker for almost the entire window.

The BBC reported way back in May that Tottenham had bid £53m for the playmaker, but Real Betis quickly shot the offer down as they saw it as too far away from Lo Celso’s £88m buyout clause.

After a summer of Ross and Rachel style will-they won’t-they, one report now claims that Spurs are on the verge of securing Lo Celso’s signature for £55m. All those months of negotiating for the sake of £2m.

Gazetta dello Sport journalist, Nico Schira claims that Lo Celso will be on around £3.65m per season at Spurs on a five-year contract with the club until 2024.

This update comes a week or so after The Mirror reported that Lo Celso and Sessegnon would both join before deadline day for a combined £80m this summer.
