Journalist claims Spurs have agreed to give club 10 per cent of future player sale

TyC Sports reporter Cesar Luis Merlo has now revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have now struck a full agreement with Rosaria Central over the signing of Alejo Veliz.

Veliz is considered by many as the best young number nine in Argentine football and the 19-year-old is expected to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Sergio Aguero by becoming a key part of the Albiceleste set-up in the years to eat.

The teenager was first mooted as a target for Spurs just a couple of days ago, and it now seems like the North Londoners have already wrapped up a deal for the starlet.

Merlo has taken to social media to assert that the operation to take Veliz to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has now been signed off on.

Spurs agree to sell-on clause to land Alejo Veliz

The journalist revealed that the Premier League side will pay an initial fee of $17m (£14.6m) plus a further $6m (£5.1m) in add-ons, with Rosario Central also getting 10 per cent of the player’s future sale.

Merlo added that the young centre-forward is expected to travel to London over the next few days to sign a five-year contract with Spurs.

Interestingly, Merlo has not mentioned anything about Veliz being loaned back to Rosario until the end of this year. I believe it will be in Tottenham’s interest to loan the youngster back to his boyhood club as the 19-year-old needs to continue playing regularly.
