Journalist claims Spurs have agreement to send first-team player on loan next season

Argentine sports journalist Nicolas Bozza has claimed that Leeds United already have an agreement in place with Tottenham Hotspur to take Juan Foyth on loan next season.

Multiple reports over the last few weeks have claimed that Foyth’s time at Tottenham is coming to an end and that he is likely to be sold in the summer (El Dia).

The Argentine international has hardly kicked a ball since the arrival of Jose Mourinho and has admitted that he would prefer to leave in order to get more game time under his belt (TNT).

The 22-year-old has been linked with moves to both Barcelona (Mirror) and Sampdoria (Calcio Mercato).

However, Leeds United were another side to be named as potential suitors for the defender if they managed to win promotion to the Premier League next season (Football Insider).

Marcelo Bielsa’s side currently sit at the top of the Championship table with nine games left to play and, barring an extremely poor run of form when the season resumes, they should find themselves securing an automatic promotion spot.

Nicolas Bozza has now suggested that the agreement for Foyth to move to Elland Road next season is already in place.

Spurs Web Opinion

I have always been a proponent of loaning Foyth out instead of selling him. It is clear that he has the talent to evolve into a top player but he needs a bit more game time to mature and get the mistakes out of his system. If he can get that in the Premier League (and one would presume he would under Bielsa), then it could potentially be a great move for all parties involved.
