Journalist claims Spurs hold interest in 24-year-old centre-back

The Athletic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke has revealed that Joachim Andersen is one of the centre-backs on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar this summer.

Anderson has been rumoured to have caught the attention of Spurs for quite a while, with the centre-back being linked with the North Londoners in 2018 when he was plying his trade for Sampdoria.

The 24-year-old was eventually signed by Lyon in 2019 but he has not had the impact he would have hoped for at the Ligue 1 club.

Andersen joined Fulham on a season-long loan deal last summer and he has established himself as a key player at the back for Scott Parker’s side.

Reports over recent weeks have indicated that Spurs could pursue a move for the Dane this summer.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has said that the Fulham man is on a three-man shortlist for Tottenham as they seek to bolster their options in central defence.

Pitt-Brooke has also hinted that there is interest in Andersen from Spurs, insisting that the possibility of Jose Mourinho’s men making an offer for the defender cannot be ruled out.

Andersen’s technical qualities have never been in doubt but the defender has demonstrated at Fulham this season that he can cope with the physical demands of the Premier League. I believe the Dane would easily walk into our backline.
