Journalist claims Spurs may have suffered another injury blow

Tottenham Hotspur have had their fair share of injury problems this season, with the likes of Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko, and Heung-min Son still out.

The vast majority of recent injuries have come in midfield, although the latest news is that Ben Davies may have picked up a hamstring problem.

Football journalist, Alasdair Gold, claims to have heard unconfirmed rumblings that the Welshman may be injured again.

He tweeted: ‘Some rumblings, I should stress unconfirmed as of yet, that Ben Davies has picked up a hamstring injury. If it is true then this season’s injury woes continue to be ridiculous for Spurs.’

Davies only recently returned to the Spurs line-up after a long-term ankle injury that kept him out between November and February.

To make matters worse, if true, Spurs do not have another natural left-back within the squad.

Ryan Sessegnon is more of a wing-back, while Jan Vertonghen and Japhet Tanganga can both cover despite being centre-backs by trade.

Danny Rose was loaned out to Newcastle United in January, decision that Spurs may come to regret if this Davies news is true.

Tottenham take on Burnley in the Premier League today and it remains to be seen whether Davies is included or whether Spurs confirm the injury rumour.
